Hurlburt Rock Products has been a supplier of Sand and Gravel in Southern Alberta since 1977. We are a family owned and operated business situated just off of Hwy 2 west of Fort Macleod Alberta. Now moving into the third generation we love screening/crushing/washing rocks and sand! You have challenging specifications required by an engineer? We have assisted many customers with these products. No engineer, just give us a call and we will do our best to put our years of experience into working for you to select the right product for your use.

On a warm chinook day in February of 1977, Ken, Brant and Thane Hurlburt were walking in the field where our wash plant is situated now, wondering who we should talk to about all the gravel on Hurlburt Ranch land.
Ken said, “There must be someone we could talk to about all this rock, Lord knows it doesn’t grow any grass for the cows!” shortly after he said this, a car drove into the field and the man asked us if we are the Hurlburt’s? He was from Burnco Industries in Calgary, and they are looking for a sand and gravel source around Fort Macleod (true story!).
Well, Burnco moved equipment in and started crushing and washing and in May of 1977 we loaded the first load of washed rock on to Barry Hornberger’s truck and he delivered it to O’Sullivan’s concrete plant in Fort Macleod.
